Cibi Masala

We've been over here at 32, Ranga Nagar for a while now. It's on 5th Street, just off the Thirunerimalai Main Road in Tambaram. My family started Cibi Masala because we saw a lot of people looking for the kinds of spices they grew up with. It is a small place, nothing fancy. We spend most of our days grinding and packing everything ourselves. Sometimes the smell of the chillies is so strong you can hear us sneezing from outside on the street. It’s just how it is when you’re working with real ingredients. People stop by on their way home from work to pick up what they need for dinner. We know most of our regulars by name. The shop is tucked away a bit, but once you find us, it’s easy to come back. We don’t have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure the bags are filled right and the floors stay clean. It gets busy around the holidays when everyone is cooking big meals for their relatives. We try to keep things simple and just focus on getting the work done every day. If you are ever around Tambaram, you will see us there doing our thing. It's not a big corporate setup, just a local spot where we take our time with each batch we make. We like the neighborhood and the people who live around 5th Street.
