Chrislam Spice Essence Private Limited is located at No 14, Andavar Nagar, 2Nd Street in Kodambakkam. Chennai is a big place, but Kodambakkam has its own specific feel, and we’ve been part of it for a bit now. We deal with spice essences, which is a bit more specific than just selling whole spices. It involves a lot of careful work with liquids and extracts. Our space on 2nd Street is usually full of different aromas, some very strong and some quite light. It’s a bit like a laboratory sometimes, but much messier because we are actually working with real ingredients. The neighbors are mostly residential, so we try not to make too much noise in the early mornings. Sometimes the heat in the workshop gets to be a bit much, but we have a few fans that keep the air moving. We aren't a huge factory, just a local private company trying to do things the right way. Most of us have been working with these kinds of scents for years, so we can tell if something is off just by the smell. It’s a steady job and it keeps us busy. We don't really do much advertising; people mostly just find us because they know where we are or they hear about us from someone else in the trade. It’s a practical way to run a business without too much fuss or extra complications.
