We run Chaat Foods Retailers Private Limited from our location at No 2/15, Kalki Nagar 1st Street in Arumbakkam. This part of Chennai 600106 is where we’ve set up our home base. We focus on chaat and other retail food items. It’s a small operation but we keep ourselves very busy with the day-to-day tasks. The street is usually full of people and we are right there in the mix. We don’t have a big corporate office or a board of directors. It’s just us trying to make sure the food we sell is decent and that people are happy with what they buy. We spend a lot of time sourcing the right spices and ingredients because that’s what makes the difference. Sometimes the storage room gets a bit cluttered with boxes and bags but we try to keep it organized. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to run a steady business in our neighborhood. The shop can get crowded during the evening hours when everyone is out looking for a snack. We’ve had to replace the fryers and the counters a few times since we started. It’s a lot of cleaning and prepping every single day. We don't have a marketing budget so we just rely on the people who live nearby. It’s a simple life running a food shop and we wouldn’t have it any other way. It takes a lot of effort but we like what we do.
