Ltd. has been operating out of this office for a while now. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but it’s a good space once you’re inside. We deal with the export and import side of things, which mostly means a lot of time spent on the computer and the phone. There are always stacks of papers on the desks—customs forms, shipping labels, and logs. It’s not a big corporate floor with cubicles. It’s more like a few rooms where we all sit and try to keep things organized. Shipping schedules are always changing, so it can get a bit stressful when a container is delayed at the port. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we just have to wait it out. We don’t have any slick presentations to show off. We just do the work of getting goods from one country to another. It’s mostly about making sure the details are right so nothing gets stuck. People think export-import is fancy, but it’s really just a lot of checking and re-checking lists. We’ve been at it long enough that it feels natural now. We like being in this part of town, even with the parking troubles.
