Lakshmi Corporations

Lakshmi Corporations has been sitting here on Armenian Street for a long time. People always get confused because the address is Old No. 97 but the new sign says No. 42. It’s one of those narrow streets where everything feels a bit crowded and old, which I actually like. The building has high ceilings and it stays somewhat cool even when it’s boiling outside. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing things down in ledgers. It’s not the kind of place with fancy computers everywhere. Mostly we just deal with the regular stuff that comes through the door. Sometimes the neighbors come in for a tea and we talk about how the street has changed over the years. The traffic outside is constant, you can hear the horns all day long. We don’t really do much in the way of decorating. There are some old wooden cupboards and a lot of paper. My father used to sit in the same chair I use now. It’s just a steady way of making a living. We try to keep things moving along without making too much of a mess. If you walk down the street, you might miss the entrance if you aren't looking closely. It’s just a heavy door between two other shops. We like the rhythm of this neighborhood and the people around.
