Appa Samy Hospital

Appa Samy Hospital is over on Friends Avenue in Arumbakkam. It’s a nice enough street and Arumbakkam is a place where a lot of families live. Our hospital is a bit of a landmark on Friends Avenue and people usually know where to find us. The building is fairly large but it’s not one of those glass skyscrapers. It feels like a part of the neighborhood. We have various departments and rooms spread out across the floors. The stairs get a lot of use every day with people moving between levels. It can be a bit chaotic at times, especially during the visiting hours when the lobby gets full. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that posted on the walls, just the signs for the different wards. The staff here is used to the pace of Arumbakkam life. Sometimes we have to deal with a leaky tap or a light that flickers, but we just fix it and move on. The hospital has a lived-in feel to it which I think people expect from a local place. We’ve got a small area where people can sit outside if they need some air. It’s just a busy, working hospital that serves the folks around Friends Avenue. We do our best to keep things moving and make sure everyone gets seen in a reasonable amount of time. It is just the way we operate.
