Our spot is at No. 320 Padma Complex on Annasalai. It is a very central location, which makes it easy for most people in Chennai to get to, though the traffic is always a bit of a challenge. The building has been around for a long time, and we have our section of it pretty well organized. We don't use any of that corporate talk here. We just tell people where to go and what to do next. It is a very functional environment. We have the lobby, the various wards, and the offices all crammed into the space. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place organized. Every morning starts with a quick check of the supplies and making sure the waiting area is tidy. People come in with all sorts of problems, and we just try to be a calm presence. The lights are bright, and the floors are shiny because we scrub them every night. It is hard work, but it’s honest. We don’t have any big promises to make, we just show up at No. 320 Padma Complex and do our jobs. Sometimes the air conditioning is a bit too cold, and we have to remind ourselves to bring sweaters. It’s just a normal hospital on a very busy road, staffed by people who care about doing a decent day's work for the neighborhood. We stay late most nights making sure the paperwork is done.
