Working at No-320 Mount Road means dealing with the Teynampet traffic every single morning. If you know this part of Chennai, you know how loud it gets outside. But once you step inside the hospital, things change a bit. We are right here in the middle of everything. The building has been here for years, and it shows its age in a comfortable way. We spend our shifts moving between the different floors, checking on things and making sure the lights are working. It is a tall building, and sometimes the elevators take a minute when it is busy. We aren’t really into those big corporate speeches. We just show up, put on our uniforms, and do what needs doing. The tea stall around the corner is where most of us head when we get a break. Teynampet is a busy hub, and being at No-320 means we are part of that daily buzz. We keep the lobby tidy and the files in order. It is a straightforward job in a very busy part of town. Sometimes the air conditioning hums a bit too loud, but you get used to it after a few days. We just keep our heads down and do the work needed for the people walking in.
