We've been at 538 Anna Salai in Teynampet for a while now. It’s a busy spot. People come and go all day. Most mornings start with getting the shutters up and checking if the lights are working right. It’s not a fancy place, just a building where things happen. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud you can’t hear yourself think, but that’s just Teynampet for you. We keep the floors swept and make sure the doors are locked at night. The regulars know where we are. If you’re driving down Anna Salai, you probably passed us a dozen times without noticing. We don't have a big sign that flashes or anything like that. Just the name on the wall. It’s mostly about keeping the place running. Some days the elevator acts up, and we have to call the guy to come fix it. That's usually how it goes here. We handle the mail and talk to the people who rent the spaces. It's a lot of small tasks that add up. Nothing too exciting, but it’s what we do. We've seen shops come and go around us. The tea stall nearby is always packed. We just stay here at Sherif Centre and do our bit. It's an old building but it holds up well enough for what's needed. We try to keep it tidy. Sometimes the rain gets in through the windows if we don't close them tight.
