Kamala Granites

Kamala Granites is over on 5th Avenue in Annanagar. The exact spot is S-14. It’s a nice part of the neighborhood. The trees give some shade, which we really appreciate during the summer months. We have a lot of stone slabs sitting around. They are heavy and take up most of our space. We don't have a fancy entrance. You just walk through the main gate and you're in the yard. I’ve been working here for a long time. I know where every piece of granite is kept. Some days are busier than others. We get people coming in looking for kitchen tops or flooring. We show them what we have on hand. There’s no pressure. We aren't the type of people to follow you around the yard. If you have a question, you can come to the little office. It’s just a small room with a desk and a few stools. We keep a pot of tea going most of the time. The 5th Avenue area is usually busy with people going to work or running errands. We feel like a part of the daily life here. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to make sure the stone gets moved and the customers are satisfied with what they bought. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We like the routine of it all. Annanagar is a good place to be. We have a few neighbors who come by just to chat about the weather or the local politics. It's a friendly atmosphere.
