Ammaiappa Aerated Water Works

Our place is at 111A Vanniar Street in Padi. It is a neighborhood that has changed a lot over the years, but we’re still here doing what we do. Ammaiappa Aerated Water Works isn't a high-tech factory. It is more of a local operation where we handle the bottling and the crates. The machines make a lot of noise, and the floors are usually a bit wet, which is expected in this line of work. Vanniar Street can be quite tight, especially when we have the trucks coming in for pickups. We’ve had to learn how to manage the space we have. It’s not always pretty, but the work gets done. The people who work here are mostly locals from around Padi. We don’t wear suits or sit in air-conditioned offices. It’s mostly boots and shirtsleeves. We have a routine that hasn't changed much in a long time. Some of the equipment has been with us for years and we know exactly how to keep it running. On hot days, the work feels a bit harder, but that is the nature of a water works business. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the city. We just want to make sure the bottles are filled and the local shops get what they need. It’s a simple business model based on hard work and staying put here at 111A.
