Amit Impex

Amit Impex is based at No. 9, Narayana Mudali Lane, which is a very tight spot in a busy part of town. Boxes are everywhere because there just isn't enough room. We've been at this address for a long while now. The morning usually starts with us clearing the entrance because someone always parks a bike right in the way. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking handwritten ledgers. The office isn't fancy at all, just some old desks and a few noisy fans. The lane outside is so narrow that moving big loads is a real headache for the guys, but we manage somehow. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just sit and talk in the dark until it’s back on. It’s mostly about keeping track of what comes in and what goes out to the docks. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anyone to greet you at the door. It’s just the smell of old paper and the constant sound of the market outside. People come and go all day long. We drink a lot of tea from the small stall at the corner. It's just how the days go here. You get used to the noise of the carts and people shouting to each other. It’s a busy life but it keeps us going. We’re just a small team trying to keep the orders moving without making too many mistakes. The walls could really use some new paint, but we are too busy to worry about that. Everything is piled up on the shelves from floor to ceiling. It’s tight but it works for us.
