We are down here at G -1 in the Gokul Flats on Lloyds Road. Royapettah is always busy, so there is usually a lot of noise coming in from the street while we work. The office isn't anything fancy, just a few desks and a lot of filing cabinets stuffed with papers for the import and export jobs we handle. Most of the day is spent checking on containers or talking to drivers who are stuck in traffic. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, but we have the fans going. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and wait for it to come back on. We have been in this spot for quite some time now. People know where to find us because of the big tree near the entrance. It’s mostly just us trying to keep track of where everything is going. We handle all sorts of goods, and there is always a new problem to solve with a shipment or some paperwork that didn’t get signed right. It is not like the big corporate offices you see in movies. It is just a regular workplace where we drink a lot of tea and try to get through the list of things to do before the sun goes down. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but nobody really has the time to stop and get that done right now. We just stay focused on the tasks at hand.
