Amirtham Soda Company

Our place is at number 3 on Avani Pillayar Kovil Street in Kolathur. It’s a busy little area, especially since we’re so close to the temple. You can hear the bells and the people passing by all day long. We have a small setup for the soda company, and it’s been in the same spot for years. The room is usually filled with crates of empty bottles waiting to be cleaned and refilled. We don’t have any fancy signs out front, just the address and the name. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running at full speed while we work on the bottling. Most of our days are spent checking the pressure and making sure everything is sealed tight. We’ve got a regular group of people who come by to pick up orders for their local shops. It’s not a very big operation, just a few of us making sure everything runs okay. We don't spend much money on making the place look pretty; we’d rather just focus on the work itself. When there’s a festival at the Kovil, the whole street gets packed, and we have to work extra hours to keep everyone supplied. It’s tiring but it’s part of being in this neighborhood. We’re just a local business doing our thing, day in and day out, and that's how we like it.
