Ajantha Hardware Stores

Ajantha Hardware Stores is one of those old shops you find on Sembudoss Street in Parrys. We are at number 98, which used to be Old No. 41 if you’re looking at older maps. Parrys is a place where you can find almost anything if you look hard enough, and we’ve been part of that landscape for years. The shop is narrow and tall, packed from floor to ceiling with bins and boxes. It’s hard to keep everything perfectly tidy when you have thousands of small items like hinges, screws, and tools. We know the layout of the place by heart, even if it looks like a mess to someone walking in for the first time. The street outside is always crowded with carts and people, so it can be quite a struggle just to get to the door. We don't have air conditioning or anything fancy; we just keep the fans going and get on with it. Customers come in looking for specific bits and pieces, and we do our best to find them in the piles. It’s a traditional way of running a store. No big marketing plans here, just a lot of regular folks coming in for their hardware needs. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but our little corner of Sembudoss Street stays pretty much the same day after day. We just keep the doors open and help the customers.
