365 Chess Academy Llp is based at Old No.5/4, which is now New No.15, on Vaidyaraman Street in T.Nagar. Being in Chennai 600017 means we are right in the thick of things. The street can be a nightmare for parking, but it is where we have been for a while. We have several rooms filled with chess sets and clocks. It is a bit of a strange environment because it is usually very quiet despite being in such a loud part of the city. You just hear the occasional click of a piece or a timer being hit. We are not a fancy club with leather armchairs. We just have plain wooden tables and folding chairs. It is a bit worn out in places, to be honest. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are more focused on the games. We get a mix of people coming in, from young kids to retired men who just want to play a round. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who know the game and keep the place running. We spend our time fixing the boards or making sure all the pieces are there at the end of the day. It is a simple life around here. We just open the doors and let the chess players do their thing. It is not about marketing for us; it is just a place to play.
