Government Urdu Model School No. 1

Government Urdu Model School No. 1 is on Village Road in Uthandi, which is part of the Egattur area. It’s a bit of a distance from the main city center of Chennai, so it’s much quieter here. We are an Urdu model school, serving the families in this part of the coast. The school building is very basic and has a simple layout with just a few classrooms and a small office. We have some trees in the yard which is good for the kids when they want to get out of the sun. Being close to the sea, we sometimes get a bit of a breeze, but it still gets very hot in the afternoons. Most of our students come from the local neighborhood and they walk or take short rides to get here. We don't have any expensive equipment or modern labs. We focus on the books and the lessons. The teachers work together to handle all the different subjects across the grades. It’s a very humble setup and we don’t have much in the way of extra staff. We have a set routine every day that everyone follows. It starts with the morning assembly and then goes through the various classes until it's time to go home. We have been at this address for quite a while and it’s a well-known spot for the Urdu-speaking community in this area. We just do our work and keep the school running for the children.
