Wattas Rajnish Architect

Working out of Sector 12 near the College of Architecture has its own rhythm. It's a busy area, but once you get inside, it’s mostly just the sound of pens on paper and some light talk. My desk is usually covered in drawings and small scale models that have seen better days. Architecture is a lot of waiting for things to dry or for emails to come through. I've been in this spot for quite some time, and the shelves are bulging with old files and samples of materials. The light in Sector 12 is good for working late into the evening. I don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. If you need a ruler or a specific pen, you might have to dig under a pile of blueprints. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the bell rings, one of us just gets up. The building has that solid feel you get in this part of town. Sometimes students from the college wander by or we see them heading to class. It reminds me of why I started doing this in the first place. It’s not about having a polished office. It’s about the actual work we do on the tables every day. We stay focused on the lines and the measurements. It's just a regular office where we try to get things right.
