Arvinder Singh Atwal Architect

If you head over to Sector-22-B and go up to the first floor of Sco 1064-65, you’ll find my office. I’m Arvinder Singh Atwal, and this is where I’ve been practicing architecture for some time now. Being on the first floor gives me a bit of a view of the street, but mostly I’m focused on whatever is sitting on my drafting table. The office isn’t huge, just a couple of rooms filled with files, drawing boards, and a few computers that have seen better days. It’s a quiet enough place to get work done, away from the immediate noise of the ground floor shops. I usually spend my mornings getting through the paperwork and the rest of the day actually designing. I like the routine of it. Sector-22-B is a familiar area, and many of the people who come in are locals who have heard about the office from someone else. There’s no big reception area or anyone in a suit waiting to greet you. It’s just me and the work. Sometimes I’m out visiting a site to check on how a wall is being built, but mostly I’m right here, figuring out the way to layout a floor plan. I don’t think making things more complicated than they need to be is ever helpful. A building is just about putting the right pieces in the right places, and that’s what I do.
