Vedic Girls Sr. Secondary School

Vedic Girls Sr. Secondary School is right in the Main Market of Mani Majra, Chandigarh. Being in a market area means it is always noisy outside with the sounds of shopkeepers and cars, but we have grown used to it over the years. The school is specifically for girls, and many of them come from the nearby houses in the Mani Majra area. The building is an older one, with thick walls and high ceilings that help keep things a bit cooler during the hot Chandigarh summers. We don't have a massive sports field, but we make use of the courtyard for our physical education classes and morning prayers. The hallways are decorated with things the students have made in their art classes, which adds a bit of color to the place. We follow a very traditional schedule, and the teachers are quite strict about the girls being on time and having their uniforms neat. During the breaks, you can hear the girls chatting and laughing, which fills up the whole building. Since we are in the market, it’s easy for parents to pick up things they need after they drop off their daughters. It’s a school that has been part of the community for a long time, and we just keep going about our business of teaching and managing the day-to-day tasks. It is a practical, no-nonsense kind of place for education. The stairs are made of stone and have been worn smooth by thousands of feet.
