Mcpunjabis

Our place, Mcpunjabis, is tucked into the Okhla Industrial Estate at B-62/12. If you’ve ever been around this part of the Indl Area, you know how busy it gets with all the factories and big trucks. We basically cater to the people working around here who need a solid meal during their short break. It’s a lot of metal shutters and dust outside, so it’s not exactly a scenic location for a meal. But we’ve got our kitchen set up and we stay busy from morning till late afternoon. The lunch hour is always the craziest time for us. We have to move fast because people only have so much time before they have to get back to their shifts. The kitchen gets really hot, and there is always something bubbling on the stove. We don’t have fancy menus or anything like that. We just cook what people like to eat every day. Sometimes the floor gets a bit dusty from the industrial road outside, so we’re constantly cleaning up. It’s a straightforward operation. We buy our supplies early, get the cooking started, and serve whoever walks in. There’s no big philosophy behind it. We just know people are hungry and they want something filling to get through the day. Working in Okhla means you see a lot of hard-working people, and we’re just part of that landscape. We keep the doors open and the food ready, day in and day out. It’s just a simple eating house.
