G. K. Works

Our shop, G. K. Works, is up on the first floor at Plot No. 23/2A. We are located in Lane No.11 within the Anand Parbat Industrial Area. If you know Karol Bagh, you know how crowded these streets can get, especially when the tempos are trying to unload. It’s a lot of climbing stairs and moving boxes for us. The building is older, and the lighting in the hallway isn't always the best, but once you get inside our space, it’s all about the work. We handle various industrial jobs that come our way. Most days involve the sound of metal hitting metal and the smell of cooling oil. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. Usually, you’ll just find one of us hunched over a machine or checking a measurement with a vernier. The summer months in Delhi are tough in these small industrial units, but we have our fans and we drink plenty of water. It’s a tight-knit community here in Anand Parbat; everyone knows everyone else’s business. We’ve been in this same spot for a while now. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertising. Word of mouth usually brings people to our door. We just try to do the job right the first time so we don't have to hear about it later. It’s a busy, cramped life, but it’s ours and we are used to it.
