Our place is located on Dayanand Road in Daryaganj, which is always crowded with traffic and people. It’s an old building, number 21, and we’ve been here long enough that most of the local tea sellers know us by name. We handle various home products and bits for interiors. The stairs are a bit narrow, so moving big boxes can be a real pain sometimes. It’s a family-run setup, mostly just me and a couple of guys who have worked here for years. We don’t really do fancy advertising or anything like that. People usually find us through word of mouth or if they’re already in Daryaganj for other work. The mornings are usually spent checking what arrived the previous night and sorting out the stock. Daryaganj has its own rhythm, especially on Sundays when the book market is on, though we usually keep the shutters down then. During the week, it’s non-stop phone calls and people dropping in. We try to keep things organized, but in a small space like this, it’s always a bit of a struggle. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy with orders to get around to it. It’s a decent enough spot to work from, right in the heart of the city where everything is happening. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep going. Most of the time, the floor is covered in bubble wrap and tape from packing.
