Chinodu Sai Durga Foods

Our place is right in the Main Market of Old Rajinder Nagar, specifically at number 5. It is a very crowded area with students always rushing between their classes and the libraries. We mostly serve basic meals and some hot snacks that are meant to fill you up without costing too much. The kitchen area is small and it gets incredibly hot near the big stoves, especially during the summer months. We start chopping the vegetables and preparing the lentils early in the morning so everything is ready for the lunch rush. We do not have much room for seating, so most of the customers just stand around the tables outside or take their food back to their rooms in plastic containers. The menu is just written on a chalkboard and it does not change very often. We use whatever ingredients we can get fresh from the market nearby each morning. My younger brother usually takes the orders while I handle the actual cooking. Sometimes we run out of the main vegetable dish before one o'clock if the crowd is bigger than usual. It is a busy life and the noise from the market never really stops. We just focus on the pots and the plates and try to keep up with the orders. People seem to like the simple home style of what we make here. It is just honest food for people who are in a big hurry to get back to their books.
