Ambey Flyash Bricks

Our business, Ambey Flyash Bricks, is on Puranahat Mandir Road in Hirapur. We are part of the Burdwan district. We have been making flyash bricks here for a while now. It is a bit different from the old clay brick yards you see around. There is a lot of grey powder everywhere and it is hard to keep the place looking tidy. But that is just the nature of the work. I have lived in Hirapur my whole life, so I know most of the people who come by to see us. We do not have any big mission statements or marketing slogans. We are just a local business trying to make a living. The work is steady but it can be tiring on the back. We have a small crew of about six men. We usually start the machines early in the morning before the heat gets too bad. We eat our lunch together under a big tree near the entrance. It is a simple life. Sometimes the supply of flyash is late and we have to wait around for the trucks. Those are the days we get some cleaning done. We do not have a big office, just a small shed where we keep the records. Most of our customers are local builders or people fixing up their own homes. We just keep our heads down and focus on making the bricks. It is honest work and it keeps us going.
