Meera Girls School is located out on the Meera Dhod Road near the Bikaner Bypass in Nathawatpura. It is a bit far from the main city, so it is quite open around here. The school is a simple building that serves the girls from the nearby villages and the outskirts of the town. We have a gate that stays closed during school hours, and a small area out front where the buses pull in. Inside, it is just a series of rooms with fans and big windows. The wind blows quite a bit across the bypass, so we often get a lot of sand and dust coming into the classrooms, which means we have to clean the benches every morning. The students usually wear their uniforms and walk in groups from the main road. We have a small courtyard in the middle where they sit during their breaks to talk and eat. The teachers here are mostly women from the local area who understand the challenges the girls face. We don't have any grand facilities or a huge auditorium, just the basic stuff needed for a proper education. It is a quiet, practical place where the main goal is just to make sure the girls have a space to study without any distractions. Life here follows the rhythm of the school year, from the hot summer months to the exam season.
