Jack & Jill Secondary School

Down in Bikaner, specifically in the M P Colony area, you’ll find Jack & Jill Secondary School. We are tucked into Gurjaro Ka Mohalla, which is a busy little neighborhood. Sarvodaya Basti and Bangalanagar are right there too, so we get a lot of kids from the local streets. The school has been here for a while, and it’s grown along with the area. It’s not a quiet place, especially when the kids are arriving or leaving. Bikaner can be very hot, so we do our best to keep the classrooms as comfortable as possible. The building is a bit of a mix of different parts added over time. We have our secondary students who are starting to look like adults and the younger ones who are still just playing around. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just show up, open the doors, and teach the lessons. There’s always a bit of chaos, like a teacher looking for a lost pen or a student forgetting their lunch. But that’s what makes it feel real. It’s a neighborhood school where the parents often stop by for a quick chat. We’re just a part of the daily life here in this corner of Bikaner, trying to do right by the kids. Every year we see new faces and say goodbye to the older ones. We don’t have much in the way of big funds, but we keep the place running for the children. It is a steady part of the neighborhood.
