Jesus & Mary Sec School

Jesus & Mary Sec School is at 1 - E in Bikaner. It is a simple address for a school that has been part of this community for a long time. Bikaner is known for being hot and dusty, and our school building reflects that local feel. The walls are thick to keep out some of the heat during those long summer months. We have a small staff of teachers who have seen generations of kids pass through these doors. Some of the parents who bring their children here actually studied in these same classrooms years ago. It is a bit of a cycle. The school day starts early to beat the worst of the sun. You can hear the sound of children reciting their lessons through the open windows. We do not have a lot of extra space, so every corner of the building gets used for something, whether it is storage for old sports equipment or a quiet spot for reading. The office is usually cluttered with files and old wooden cabinets. We do not spend money on fancy advertisements or polished brochures. People find us because they live nearby or their neighbors told them about us. It is just a regular secondary school where we focus on the basics. Lunchtime is usually the best part of the day when everyone sits under the shade to eat. We are just a small part of Bikaner, keeping things running one day at a time.
