Hallikhed Raita Sahayogi Farmers Producer Company Limited is based right in Hallikhed B village, specifically at No. 188, which is where the Primary Agriculture Credit Cooperativesociety is. Being in Humnabad, we are surrounded by people who have lived off the land for generations. We set this up because we felt that the farmers here needed a bit more support when it comes to the business side of things. It’s a local effort through and through. We spend a lot of time at the cooperative society building, just going over the numbers and talking about which crops are going to be most viable for the next stretch. We don't have a lot of money for fancy things, so our space is very basic and focused on the job at hand. We are just a bunch of neighbors who decided to pool our resources and see what we can do. Sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle to get everything organized, especially when everyone is busy in their own fields, but we make it work. We talk in plain English and local terms because that’s who we are. There’s no need for corporate jargon when you're talking about the quality of the soil or the price of grain. We just want to ensure that the people in Hallikhed B have a fair chance at making their farms successful. It’s hard, honest work, and we just take it one day at a time, trying to be helpful for the sake of everyone involved.
