Bidar Kishan Farmer Producer Company

Our group is based out of Kushal Nivas in Baswanagar, at house number 9-8-86. Kushal Patil was kind enough to let us use the space to get this farmer company going a while back. We are all from the Bidar area and most of us have been farming this soil our entire lives, just like our fathers did. It’s a tough life sometimes, especially when the rain doesn't come when it's supposed to or the heat gets too much. We decided to join up so we could have a bit more say in how our crops are sold and to share the costs of things like fertilizer and renting equipment. We aren't professional businessmen with fancy offices; we're just farmers who realized that being together is better than being alone in the market. The house in Baswanagar is where we keep our records and sit down for some tea to discuss the next harvest and the prices we’re seeing. It’s a very informal setup, nothing like a corporate office. You might find a couple of us there in the afternoons after the morning chores in the fields are done. We deal with all sorts of local grains and pulses that grow well here. There’s no fancy logo or big sign out front, just us trying to make ends meet and keep our farms running for another year. It’s about the community here in Bidar and making sure we all get by.
