VIKAS RESTAURANT

VIKAS RESTAURANT is sitting right on Semra Road in Govindpura, Bhopal. We are at C-33, which is right near the Police Chowki in the industrial area. Being in an industrial zone means we see a lot of people coming in from the nearby factories and workshops. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of trucks moving around all day long. The restaurant itself is quite simple. We have the usual tables and chairs, and we try to keep the place as cool as we can since Bhopal gets really hot in the summer months. My brother and I have been running this place for several years now. We didn't really have a big plan when we started, we just wanted to cook for the local workers and families around here. The walls might need a bit of a touch-up one of these days, but we spend most of our time in the kitchen anyway. It is a very practical place. We don't do anything too fancy or use any complicated equipment. We just follow the recipes we’ve always used. The police chowki is a good landmark for people who are coming here for the first time. We stay open pretty late to make sure anyone working the late shift can get something to eat. It is a honest living and we have a good routine down now on Semra Road.
