Under The Jamun Tree

You can find us at the Jehan Numa Retreat out on Dr Saleem Ali Road. We’re right near Van Vihar. It’s a bit quieter out here than in the middle of Bhopal. Under The Jamun Tree isn’t a fancy indoor place with air conditioning blasting all the time. We are mostly outdoors. Yeah, that means sometimes a leaf might land on your table. It’s just how it is when you’re under the trees. We started this because we liked the spot. We thought people might want to eat outside. Stiff suits aren't what you'll see the staff wearing. Practical clothes for the outdoors make more sense here. A lot of time goes into sweeping the area. We make sure the chairs are straight. The bugs can be a bit much in the evenings, so we light some coils and hope for the best. We don't have a giant corporate office or a marketing team telling us what to say. We just know the regulars who come by after a walk in the park. It’s a simple setup. If the weather is bad, we have to scramble a bit. That’s part of the deal. We like the fresh air and the way the light looks through the branches in the late afternoon. It's just a regular place for people to sit and have a meal. We are here every day.
