Swastik Ladies Parlour

Swastik Ladies Parlour has been a part of Jawahar Chowk for a long time. Bhopal is a big city, but this corner feels like a small village sometimes because everyone knows everyone else. Our shop is where local women come when they have a bit of free time between their house chores or after finishing work. We don’t have those big glass windows like the shops in the malls, just a simple door that stays open most of the day. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but they hold a lot of memories from the years gone by. You can hear the scooters passing by outside all day long and the vendors calling out. Inside, it’s mostly just us chatting with the ladies who come for a haircut or to get their eyebrows shaped. It’s a routine we’ve followed for years. We handle things ourselves and try to keep everything tidy as best as we can. Sometimes the electricity goes off in the afternoons, and we just sit and talk in the dark until the power comes back. It is just a basic place for people living around the 462016 area. There is no rush here unless it is a festival time or someone has a wedding to go to. We use the same tools we’ve had for a while, and they work just fine for us. It’s not about being the most modern place, it’s just about being there for the neighborhood women. We are happy with how things are going.
