Amisha Herbal Beauty Parlour

This place is actually part of a house, number 18 on the main road in Lakherapura. It’s been here in Bhopal for quite some time now. We use a lot of herbal stuff, things like neem and amla, because that’s what people around here like. It’s not a big corporate setup. It’s just a small parlour where women from the neighborhood come to talk and get their eyebrows done or a facial. The walls are painted a simple color. We have some jars with homemade pastes and powders. It smells like dried leaves and rose water most of the time. We don't have a receptionist, so one of us just wipes our hands and comes to the door when the bell rings. The main road is always busy with bikes and people going to the market. Sometimes it’s hard to hear over the traffic, but inside it’s okay. We’ve got a couple of chairs and a table for the threading threads. It’s a bit cramped when three or four people show up at once, but we manage. We don't do those expensive chemical treatments you see in magazines. We stick to what we know. People trust us because we’ve been here so long. We know most of the families in Lakherapura. It’s a simple life, running a shop like this. We open up in the morning after finishing house chores. We keep the tea kettle going in the back room for when friends drop by.
