Sheetal Salon

Sheetal Salon is over at Shop No-1 and 2 on Dwarkapuri Kotra Road in Bhopal. We are right at the P & T Chouraha, which is a very busy spot. You can hear the traffic and the whistles of the traffic police all day long. Because we have two shops joined together, there is a bit more room to move around. One side is mostly for the cutting and the other side has the chairs for waiting and other stuff. The floor is that old-fashioned stone that stays cool. We have a lot of regular guys from the Kotra area who have been coming here since they were kids. Now they bring their own sons. It is a bit loud because of the location, but we are used to it. The walls have a few posters of different hairstyles that have been there for years, even if nobody asks for those styles anymore. We have a big water cooler in the corner because Bhopal gets so dry. Sometimes we run out of clean towels on a Sunday, so we are always rushing to get the laundry done. It is a simple business. We open early and stay open until the last person leaves. The P & T Chouraha is a landmark, so nobody ever gets lost trying to find us. We just keep our heads down and keep the scissors moving. It is hard work but it is ours.
