Peergate is one of those old parts of Bhopal where the streets are narrow and full of history. Our place is at Makan No 68, near the Chowki Imama Wada. It is a very traditional area, and the building itself is quite old. You can feel the age in the walls and the way the door creaks when you push it open. We have been working here for a long time, and the families in the area have become like our own. The light inside is a bit dim in the corners, but we have bright lamps over the workstations so we can see what we are doing. It’s not a big, modern salon with glass walls. It’s a practical space where we do a lot of work with our hands. We use simple tools and products that have worked for us for years. Outside, you can hear the sounds of the local market and people calling out to each other. On Fridays, it’s particularly busy with people moving toward the nearby mosques. We don't have a website or anything like that; people find us because they live nearby or their mothers told them to come here. Sometimes we sit on the steps during a break and just watch the bikes go by. It’s a slow but steady kind of life here in the heart of Bhopal, and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and do the work honestly every day.
