Shweta BhojnalayaS

Shweta BhojnalayaS is our little place in Bhopal, right beside the Moti Masjid in the Peergate area. It’s a very old part of the city with narrow streets and lots of history. We’ve been here for years, serving food to the people who live and work around the masjid. My day starts very early. I have to go to the local market to pick out the best vegetables and grains. Then we bring everything back and start the cooking. It’s a small family-run operation. My sisters help with the chopping and I handle the stoves. The dining area is quite basic with simple wooden benches and tables. We don't have any air conditioning, just the ceiling fans that have been humming for years. People come here because it feels like eating at home. We don't use any fancy ingredients, just the stuff you find in any Indian kitchen. The lunch hour is always the craziest time. We are constantly refilling bowls and bringing out fresh rotis. It can be exhausting, especially when it’s hot outside, but we enjoy the work. We see the same regulars every day, and we know exactly what they want without them having to say a word. It’s a community feeling here. We aren't trying to be a big restaurant chain. We are just happy to keep the tradition going in this corner of Bhopal for everyone.
