Seema Herbal Beauty Parlour

The shop at Shop No 55 on Regiment Road has been here in Shahajanabad for a long time now. People around here know Seema Herbal Beauty Parlour mostly by word of mouth since we don’t really do much advertising. Bhopal can get pretty dusty in the afternoons so I spend a good amount of my morning just wiping down the glass shelves and making sure the herbal jars are in order. It is a small place but it stays busy with women from the neighborhood coming in for their regular threading or henna. Sometimes the tea stall next door brings over a cup while we are waiting for the next person to show up. We use a lot of natural things here because that is how it has always been done. The chairs are a bit old but they are comfortable enough for someone getting their hair oiled or a simple facial. It gets a bit loud when the traffic on Regiment Road picks up during the evening rush. You can hear the horns and the people shouting outside while you sit in the chair. We just keep the fan running on high to stay cool. Most of the ladies who come here have been visiting since they were girls and now they bring their own kids along. It is just a regular part of the day for us in this corner of Bhopal, keeping things simple and sticking to what we know works for our regulars.
