Rewa Hair Jents Parlor

If you go down to Phool Mandi in the Arera Colony area of Bhopal, you will find Rewa Hair Jents Parlor. We are right in the Main Gali of the Fool Market. It is a very lively place to be every single morning because of all the flower sellers and the people buying stuff for weddings or temples. The smell of marigolds and roses comes right into the shop sometimes. I’ve been cutting hair here for a long time now. The shop has three chairs and big mirrors that have seen better days. Most of the men who come in are workers from the market or people living nearby who just need a simple trim or a clean shave. We don't do anything complicated here. If you want a basic haircut while listening to the radio, this is the spot. I usually keep the door open to let the breeze in, though it gets quite dusty with all the people walking past. Sometimes the chai wala from next door brings us some tea while we are working. We stay open pretty late because that’s when most of the guys finish their work and have time for a haircut. The floor gets covered in hair quickly, so I’m always sweeping up between customers. It’s a small space, but we make it work. It’s just how things are in this part of Bhopal and the work keeps us busy.
