Pahchan Beauty Parlour

Pahchan Beauty Parlour is tucked away in the Panchvati Market area of Bhopal. It is a small place where I spend most of my mornings setting things up before the first customers arrive. The market gets quite loud as the day goes on, but inside the shop, it stays a bit more quiet. We have the usual things like threading chairs and some mirrors on the walls. I’ve been in this 462024 zip code area for quite some time now. Many of the women who come here are neighbors or people who are out doing their daily shopping in the market. It’s not a fancy setup with bright lights or anything like that. Just a practical place to get things done. I often have to move the chairs around to make more space when it gets crowded in the afternoons. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it doesn’t stop the work from getting done. Sometimes we run out of some supplies and I have to send someone out to grab more from the stalls nearby. It’s a bit disorganized at times, I suppose. I don't have a big team, just a couple of us helping out. We talk about our families and what’s happening in Bhopal while we work. It feels like a small community here. You find us right in the middle of the market rush every single day. It's just a regular shop for the ladies.
