O Hunny Bakery

Our bakery, O Hunny Bakery, is located at number 2, Main Road in the New Market area of Bhopal. We are very close to the Hanuman Mandir, so we hear the temple bells throughout the day. New Market is one of those places that is always packed with people looking for clothes or household items. We are right in the thick of it. Every morning starts the same way for us. We arrive while it is still dark to get the ovens started. By the time the shops around us begin to open their shutters, we already have the smell of fresh bread and biscuits in the air. We aren't a big corporate chain. It is just a local bakery where we do everything by hand. We have glass cases filled with whatever we made that day, like puffs, cakes, and different kinds of bread. Sometimes we get orders for birthdays, and those days are always a bit more stressful in the back. The counter gets crowded in the evenings when people are heading home and want to take something sweet back to their families. We know most of the other shop owners on the street, and we often swap stories over a cup of tea during the quiet moments. It is a small place with flour on the floor and a lot of work to do. We just try to get the baking right and keep the shelves full until we close up for the night.
