Nandu Mens Parlour

Our shop is number 15 on Chhola Road. It's a small place, nothing too special to look at from the outside, but it serves the purpose. I started this parlour because I wanted to work for myself and I knew how to cut hair. Chhola Road is always busy with people and vehicles, so there is never a dull moment looking out the door. We get all kinds of people coming in. Some are workers from nearby, others are students. It’s the kind of place where you don't need an appointment. You just show up and see if a chair is free. I try to keep the shop clean, but with the dust from the road, it’s a constant job. The mirrors are old but clear enough. We use the standard razors and combs. I don't like those expensive salons where they charge you just for the air conditioning. Here, you pay for the haircut and that’s it. Most people come for a shave and a quick chat. We talk about local things happening in Bhopal. It’s a very local vibe. Sometimes my brother helps out when it’s busy. We’ve been at this same spot for years now. It’s not much, but it’s our living.
