Muskan Hair Saloon

You can find us at Shop No 2 on Bhadbhada Road, right in Jawahar Chowk, Bhopal. We are very close to the Police Chouki, so the area feels quite safe. Lots of policemen actually come in to get their hair cut or get a quick shave before their shift starts. It’s a small shop but we make the most of the space. We have a couple of chairs and a bench for people to wait on. Usually, there’s a newspaper or two lying around for people to read. Bhadbhada Road is a main route, so there are always cars and bikes zooming past. We open up early in the morning, around 8 or 9, and stay open until late evening. The mirrors are big and we keep them wiped down. It’s mostly men from the nearby houses who come here. We’ve become friends with many of them over the years. We talk about everything from politics to the price of vegetables. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of place. We don’t have a website or anything like that, people just know we are here. The shop front is painted blue and stands out a bit from the other stores. It’s just a regular hair saloon where you get what you need without any fuss. The tea shop next door brings us glasses of tea when we are too busy to leave.
