Mahak Beauty Queen

You can find Mahak Beauty Queen inside Shivam Complex, which is at the 10 Number Market area in Gulmohar Colony. Bhopal is quite green, but our little corner in the market is always buzzing with people buying groceries or clothes. The shop is small and tucked away, so it stays a bit quieter than the main road. I mostly handle threading and basic hair stuff for the ladies who live in the colony. Most of my customers are women I’ve known for years. They come in with their kids after school or while they are out doing their daily errands. We have a couple of chairs and a small bench for waiting. It’s nothing special, just a place to get things done. Sometimes we talk about what’s cooking for dinner or the new shops opening up in Bhopal. The light in the complex isn't always the brightest, so I have a few extra lamps by the mirrors. In the summer, the cooler has to stay on all day or it becomes like an oven inside. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs to get here, but people don’t seem to mind. I like the routine of it, opening up in the morning and seeing the familiar faces. We don't do anything too complicated, just the usual things people need to feel a bit more put together. It’s just me and maybe one helper on busy weekends.
