Kamil Khan Hair Style Salon sits on Jamalpura Road in the Shahajanabad area of Bhopal. We are right opposite the Shiv Mandir, so it is very easy to find us if you are heading toward Indira Jamalpura. I’ve been cutting hair here for quite some time now. The shop is a place where guys come to talk about the local news or sports while they get a trim. I don't follow any fancy trends from magazines, I just give people the look they ask for. Sometimes the shop gets full and men just stand around the entrance chatting. The bells from the mandir across the road are a constant sound throughout the day. I have a few mirrors and a couple of revolving chairs that have seen better days but still work fine. Bhopal has its own pace, and here in Jamalpura, it feels very traditional. I start my day early, usually around eight, to catch the people going to work. Shaving is a big part of what I do. I use a straight razor and make sure everything is clean. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, but I like the community feel of this street. There are tea stalls nearby, so someone is always bringing over a hot cup. It is just a regular hair salon for regular people who want a decent haircut without any fuss or high prices.
