Jay Bhole Hair Saloon is located right on Bus Stand Road in Bairagarh, Bhopal. Being near the bus stand means there is always a lot of noise and people moving around. It is a good spot because people can just hop off a bus and come in if they need a quick trim. I’ve seen this area change quite a bit over the years. Bairagarh is a lively place to be. The shop itself is nothing too special, just a regular place where men come to get their hair cut or get a shave before heading to work or home. I start early in the morning, usually before the rush starts. The chairs are old but comfortable enough. I spend most of my day standing here. Sometimes it gets hot in the afternoons, but we manage. I don’t use any big advertisements or anything like that. Most people know us because they live nearby or work at the shops on the same road. It is a straightforward business. I use my scissors and clippers and try to do a decent job so people come back next time. There is always tea being passed around from the stall next door. That’s how the day goes by in Bhopal. We just keep working and talking to whoever is sitting in the chair at the time. It is a simple life and a simple shop for the local community.
