I’ve been at this shop in Durga Nagar for quite some time now. We are located near Habibganj, right off the main Hoshangabad Road here in Bhopal. The shop is a basic setup with the usual tools you’d expect. Most mornings start with me unlocking the front door and getting the towels ready. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but people find us tucked away here in Durga Nagar. The neighborhood is mostly families and working people. You can hear the sounds of the city coming from Hoshangabad Road, but it feels a bit quieter once you step inside. I don’t use any fancy machines or anything like that. Just my hands and the shears I’ve had for years. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit on the bench outside until it comes back on. It’s a good time to talk to the neighbors or just watch the stray dogs sleeping in the shade. Bhopal can get very hot in the summer months, so the ceiling fan is always running. We just keep things moving one person at a time. No rush, no big fuss about anything. It's just a regular hair cutting shop for regular people. So yeah, that is basically us at this place.
