Dev Hair Salons has been operating out of Bairagarh for a long time now. We are right on Fatak Road, which is a place most people in this part of Bhopal know pretty well because of the trains and the crossing. It can get loud with the horns and the cars waiting at the gate, but we don’t mind it much anymore. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just the sound of scissors and maybe a radio playing some local news. We keep the shop open long hours because people in Bairagarh work hard and often only have time late in the evening. It’s a simple place with the basic stuff you’d expect in a hair salon. No fancy leather sofas or anything, just sturdy chairs and big mirrors that have seen a lot of years. We get kids coming in for their first haircut and older men who have been coming to us since we first opened on Fatak Road. Bhopal is a big city, but here in Bairagarh, it feels more like a small town where everyone knows what everyone else is up to. We just sit here, cut hair, and watch the world go by through the front window. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. If you find yourself stuck at the fatak, you’re probably looking right at our place. We’re just local people serving other local people who need a haircut without any extra fuss or high prices.
