Blue Heaveen Gents Beauty Parlour

Located at 27 Ali Manzil Road, we are right across from Sultania Girls School. Being in Shahajanabad means there is always a lot going on in the streets. Idgah Hills is just up the way, so we get people coming from both sides of the hill. When school lets out in the afternoon, the whole street gets blocked with rickshaws and parents, and it gets quite noisy inside the shop for an hour or so. We have been here for a while and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. It is a gents parlour, so it is mostly just guys coming in for a clean look before a wedding or just their monthly cut. We have a couple of guys working here who know most of the people who walk through the door by name. We talk about cricket a lot, especially when a big match is on the radio or the small TV in the corner. Sometimes we stay open late if someone comes in last minute, especially on Saturday nights when the market is busy. It is not one of those posh places you see in the malls, just a simple room with some chairs and some gel and talcum powder. We use what we have and try to keep things tidy enough for everyone. It’s just a part of the neighborhood where people feel comfortable sitting for a bit and getting their hair sorted out.
