Bhagya Laxmi Gents Parlour

Bhagya Laxmi Gents Parlour is my place in Sector D, Shop No. 23 on Bhel Road. We are in the Subhash Market area of Govindpura, Bhopal. It’s a typical gents' shop where men come for a haircut or a shave. I’ve been working here for many years. The shop is small and can get quite hot in the peak of summer, but the ceiling fan works hard. We have two main chairs and a couple of plastic ones for those waiting. I usually have the newspaper lying around for people to read. The market is a busy place, so there is always something happening outside. Most of my customers are workers from the nearby BHEL area. They want something quick and affordable. I don’t do anything fancy like spa treatments. It’s just scissors, combs, and a straight razor. I sharpen my tools every morning before we open. The walls have some old posters of movie stars, and the paint is peeling a bit near the ceiling. I haven’t bothered to fix it because it doesn’t affect the haircut. My hands are steady, and I’ve never had a complaint. It’s a simple way to earn a living in Bhopal. We stay open late for those who finish their shifts after dark. Sometimes the neighborhood kids stop by to ask for the time. It’s a nice little community.
